A slope at the rear of the lot is the single biggest variable here. It decides whether the shell needs a raised bond beam, how much retaining goes in behind it, and whether the deck can sit level with the house or has to step down to meet the yard. None of that is a problem, but it is engineering rather than a guess, and it is the difference between a pool that sits in the hill and one that looks like it was parked on it.

How that changes the build

On a sloped lot the usable design often gets better rather than worse. A raised wall gives you a place for a spillway, a spa seat, or a bench at the deep end, and the retaining you already need can carry the hardscape instead of just holding dirt back.
